Our project experiences
Engineer on various Energy Management Systems (EMS) implementation projects in Southern Africa including Eskom’s National Control Centre upgrade; Regional Control Centre of Electricidade de Moçambique in Maputo; Southern Africa Power Pool (SAPP) EMS in Harare. The SAPP implementation involved the integration with three neighbouring countries Control Centres.
Technical lead engineer for the upgrade of Eskom’s Regional Control Centres (DMS) in South Africa. This included the upgrade of the security to align with international practices for Critical Infrastructure Protection, upgrade of the Telemetry front-end and SCADA Application back-end servers and integration with Eskom GIS and IT business layer.
Business Analyst for the engineering and procurement phase of the Eskom Outage Management System (OMS) replacement project to analyse the business requirements and to prepare the technical specifications.
Substation Control and Protection
Member of the Engineering consultancy team for the control and protection parts of various substation projects in Botswana. Responsibilities included the preparation of the technical specifications, technical evaluation, review of the designs and supervision of works during the implementation and commissioning.
Automated metering reading
Implemented numerous automated meter reading (AMR) and check metering solutions. Customers includes Electricidade de Moçambique (EDM); the Mozambique Transmission Company (Motraco); South 32’s Mozal plant; Hydroelectricity de Cahora Bassa (HCB) and various industrial customers and campus networks.
Conducted many on-site verification of the accuracy of metering installations, including the meters and testing of the CTs & VTs. Customers includes the Mozambique Transmission Company (Motraco); South 32’s Mozal plant; Hydroelectricity de Cahora Bassa (HCB) and various industrial customers.
Lesotho Highlands Development Authority LHDA Phase 2 Project: Lead engineer for the provision of bulk telecommunication capabilities during phase 2 of the project. This project includes all communication systems required for the operation of the LHDA power network including all new substations added and telemetry of the substations and water telemetry.
